The Advanced Institute of Fertility uses a unique and successful approach to enhancing convenience and access to our advanced reproductive technologies and services. Because "high-tech" services such as ours are typically available in limited geographic locations, we've developed a program of coordinated care we call satelliting. This approach allows us to work with the patients' local health care providers when the patients are located a long distance from our office.
Following initial consultation and medical history review with the Institute's staff, satellite patients will typically undergo most of their basic infertility work-up services with their local physician provider in preparation for identifying, and undertaking the appropriate recommended advanced assisted reproductive therapy (ART). Medications, ovarian stimulation, and monitoring take place locally and the patient's progress is continuously and carefully coordinated through the two medical teams. When tests reveal that the timing is appropriate, the patient's care is transferred to the Institute for the ART procedure.
The Institute's expert staff has been compassionately and successfully offering this approach to infertility care for many years in conjunction with selected physicians. We welcome the opportunity to develop new satelliting arrangements with appropriate, non-local physicians who wish to serve their patients by enhancing their practice repertoires through the provision of state-of-the-art advanced reproductive services. Our patients consistently express great satisfaction as a result of their participation and the distinct advantages of :
- local access to most prepratory services and limited travel primarily for the ART procedures only;
- maintaining the important relationship with their primary physician and receiving pre-ART services in a familiar environment with a familiar staff;
- and some cost savings as a result of reduced time away from work and home.
